What does "Impact Snapshot" mean?
Impact Snapshot is an estimated environmental indicator that helps explain why resale matters. When you buy or resell an item, you help reduce the demand for producing a brand-new one.
Are these numbers exact?
No. These are estimates based on widely used apparel lifecycle research and industry averages. Actual impact varies by fabric type, manufacturing location, dyeing/finishing methods, shipping, and how long an item stays in use.
Why do you show ranges instead of one number?
Because a single number can imply precision that does not exist. Ranges are more honest and better reflect real-world variability.
How do you decide the estimate for each item?
Each listing is assigned an impact category (for example: cultural set, party dress, outerwear). Each category has a baseline range for water and emissions—then the app displays one metric at a time to keep it clear and readable.
Why does the metric rotate?
We rotate between a few indicators (water, emissions, waste avoided) so families can understand impact without being overwhelmed. The core truth stays the same: keeping an item in use is better than producing a new one.
What is the most important impact of resale?
The most important impact is simple: one more item kept in circulation. That reduces pressure on new manufacturing and helps prevent clothing waste.
Do you track my total impact?
We may display optional "Your Impact" summaries in the future (e.g., items kept in circulation). For now, your impact is reflected on each purchase and resale.
